When there is an activity the videographer has a subject to shoot. Sports and Action photography is all about timing. Its about being in the right place at the right time and its about execution. One such activity or hobby is dirt bike racing. When setting up with a video tripod find a location on an outside corner to get the right camera angle and close as possible and still keeping safe. I find there is less people getting in the way of your shots. Also take in consideration the back ground to your action so that it does not distracting with your action. The video tripod should be capable to get over the crowd when necessary as well being able to take that low exciting shot. Keep a video camera stabilizer handy for the secondary shots. Fast moving shots can be captured by your video camera stabilizer so you will not miss any action. Composite your shots so you lead the subject into the scene. I try to take as many still camera shots from my tripod as well as capture enough video from my video camera stabilizer.
